MY FELLOW CONSERVATIVES

I told my wife before the election ever began that the Republicans would pick up 8 seats in the Senate, take a bunch of governor's races, and pick up maybe 10 or more seats in the House. I knew anyone with any sense who was actually honest with themselves about the Democrats and Obama would turn on them. And it looks like that is how it will actually shake out. And good.

I’m glad for the wins and the show of honesty on the part of most Americans.

However I must be honest about this as well.

A lot of modern people think political elections (and far more importantly what comes afterward) are like petty high school popularity contests (oh please like me, please like me best!) or some type of stupid, juvenile sporting event where every so often your teams shows up and ass-whoops the other guy. Until next game of course.

And secondly a lot of modern people believe it is the job of “their Team” to do everything for them. (That’s’ what you elected them for, right?)

Nothing could possibly be farther from the Truth. That’s exactly the way modern liberals think. That politics is a popularity game or a sporting event and that “your team” is supposed to win the game and fix the world for you. Fix you for you.

Now if you’re a Real Conservative, or even just a mildly mature adult, you know instinctively that politics as a popularity game is utter infantile bullshit, and that no one alive is ever going to fix you other than yourself. Unless, of course, in certain extreme situations, God will have to throw in with you if you are extraordinarily stubborn and self-destructive. But no politician is ever gonna be your stupid savior (you are really, really incredibly naïve and stupid if you believe in "political saviors") and no political party is ever gonna fix either you or the world for you. You want a mommy, okay, but you’re an utter imbecile if by now you haven’t figured out that Obama isn’t gonna breast feed you.

Neither is the Democratic party or their stupid liberal ideology. Nor is the Republican party going to fix you or the world for you.

Let those with eyes to see and ears to hear understand me.

You’ve won the election, but the actual Work is now yours my friends. Entirely yours.

It always was. So it will always be. You just forgot that over time.

Don’t forget it again.

Instead of all that get off your asses and fix yourself. Get off your asses and fix the world. Get off your asses and fix your nation. And it will actually start to get fixed.

You see that’s exactly what being a Conservative means. You don’t look to be led, popular, tended-to, or wet-nursed by effeminate "political saviors." Of any stripe, color, or class.

Instead you look to be honest (with yourself and the rest of the world), solve problems, and fix things.

So don’t let me or anyone else stop ya. Not the old Democrats, not your new Republicans.

This is your job sports. So, hit the bricks. And let’s whip this mutha back into some kinda working shape again.

And there ya go. Case closed suckas, case closed!

Global Network IV

The Exchange - A Global Network IV

After going over recent traffic stats, and the traffic here at the Missal has been steadily growing lately, I've revisited my Global Network.

It turns out that now my traffic comes mostly first and foremost from North America, as has always been the case, then Europe, then Oceania. Previously the third most popular bit of Continental Traffic had been from Asia.


As for countries the first slot goes to the US of course, but then Canada, followed by Australia, and the UK seems to have practically disappeared as a traffic factor for now. I am very pleased however with the amount of traffic I'm getting from Eastern Europe and Asia.


I intend to be increasing content soon because I have invited some rather talented new writers and contributors to join me at the Missal, and as soon as I can get it up and running, at the B-Reader. I'll be discussing this more in future posts and soon I hope you will be seeing writings and posts form some of our new writers.

I also hope to appeal to a new audience of conservatives throughout Europe and Asia because I have invited some European conservatives and Libertarians to write for the Missal. I'm looking for good, conservative Asian and South American writers as well. If that all works out then I hope to bring on board European and Asian writers who can use the Missal to discuss conservative political, social, moral, and religious matters in their parts of the world.

To make the Missal an even bigger and more effective Global Network.

One of the greatest Americans ever to hold office as British Prime Minister is stepping down. You were one of the truly greats Tony, right up there with Disraeli, Churchill, and Thatcher, and they treated you exactly the same way. For a modern day liberal, you were a helluvah Conservative.

Godspeed to ya on whatever you do next. My hat's off to ya Limey.

Britain's Tony Blair Promises to Resign Within a Year

LONDON — Prime Minister Tony Blair promised Thursday to resign within a year, hoping to appease critics in his governing Labour Party who are calling for his resignation by revealing a time frame.
"I would have preferred to do this in my own way," Blair said. He refused to set a specific departure date, but said the annual Labour Party conference this month would be his last. Next year's conference is scheduled for September 2007.

Pressure for the prime minister to announce a departure date had intensified in recent weeks, fueled by widespread anger at Blair's handling of last month's fighting between Israel and Lebanon-based Hezbollah militants.
Many within Blair's governing Labour party were furious at his refusal to call for an early cease-fire, a stance critics saw as tacitly allowing Israel to bomb Lebanon for weeks.

Environment Secretary David Miliband — a key Blair ally — said on Thursday that Gordon Brown was the only person who should succeed Blair and claimed the party was excited about the prospect of his premiership.

"I would say the transition...the energizing, refreshing transition to Gordon Brown — not to anyone else — is a transition that is about ideas and values more than about dates," he said in an interview with the leftist New Statesman magazine, published Thursday.

Miliband, often mentioned as a potential rival to Brown, said he would not be "a runner nor a rider" in leadership and deputy leadership elections following Blair's departure.

Eight junior officials said Wednesday they had quit rather than remove their names from a letter demanding that the prime minister step aside. They were among 15 Labour lawmakers who signed the letter, writing that while they supported the centrist direction Blair had taken the party, he was no longer the right man to lead it.

Tom Watson, the most senior of those to resign, quit his post as minister for veterans in the Ministry of Defense.
Blair smacked back after receiving Watson's resignation letter, saying he would have fired Watson if he had not quit himself, and calling his decision to sign the lawmakers' letter "disloyal, discourteous and wrong."
